STUDENT WELFARE

The welfare of students is a high priority at La Trobe Secondary College. Support

for students is managed by a Student Welfare Coordinator together with Sub

School Managers, Guidance Staff and it is a focus for classroom teachers.

These are the following strategies that ensure the wellbeing of all students: -

• Individual counselling from the SWC and Guidance Staff.

• A comprehensive Home Group system for the Junior School.

• A Peer Support Program for Year 7 students. (Led by Year 11 students)

• A firm Policy against Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Bulling.

• An effective Student Representative Council.

• A College Captain and Vice Captains system to ensure student leadership.

• Programs tailored to suit individual student needs such as WAVE and VYDP.

• Support for Parents from SWC and Guidance Staff.

 The Support Staff are easily accessible to Students and Parents and would welcome

 further enquiry.
