CAREERS

The College Careers Teacher and office are career resources for the College Community.
Our Careers Teacher organises many activities for our students. Some of these include:

• personal interviews

• organization of speakers and career functions

• liaising with students, parents, teachers and members of the community, to provide career information.

The following points need to be considered by students when considering careers:

• interests and skills

• personality - likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses

• work values

• academic requirements

• institutions which provide suitable courses

• economic climate and job availabilty

• flexibility - consider a range of careers and find out what you can about each

• changing employment patterns

• many employers now look toward completion of VCE for apprenticeship and many other semi-professional jobs

• successful completion of VCE is required for entry to tertiary courses.
